Alumni and Community band to perform October 5
Mt. Gilead Marching Band season is upon us! We're proud to
announce that we have added 24 new members to our Band. This year's show will
have a definite Latin theme to it. Our band will be competing in five different
shows this season, with our first at Cloverleaf High School in Medina, OH.
Even with so many new marchers, we have high hopes of a 1st place finish.
In other band news, we look forward to marching once again with the Alumni Band,
Oct. 5th. Last year we had around 20 alumni and are looking forward to more
this year. Mr. Vince Brown will be in charge of the Alumni Band this year. We
will have more news on the Alumni Band soon here on the
www.mtgilead.com website and in the
Sentinel.
With so many additions to the band, our uniform situation has become serious.
We have 53 members of the band, and only 75 uniforms with most of those torn and
stained (even with repeated dry cleaning). We are desperately trying to raise
the needed funds to order new uniforms. A prototype is available in Mr. D's
office, if you would like to see the future of the MGHS Marching Band. We are
so close to being able to order new uniforms. If you could help with a
