Morrow County Shelter Now Has Pet Food Pantry

The shelter is still accepting donations of pet food for our pet food pantry.  We will be handing out food to those in need on May 26th.  Because we will have a limited supply of both dog and cat food you MUST contact the shelter to add your name to the list and to schedule a pick up.  Anyone requesting food must be a Morrow County resident and show proof of current dog license(s) in order to get dog food. License may be purchased at either the dog shelter or the auditors office*** We will have to limit the number of requests based on what food we have available.

When families struggle to pay bills and put food on the table, it sometimes means they’re unable to provide for the furry, finned and feathered friends who depend on them, too.

To help ensure no animal goes without, the Morrow County Dog Shelter is creating a pet food pantry for Morrow County residents who need help feeding their pets.

Effective immediately, the shelter will accept donations of all brands and types of pet food (dry or canned) for all kinds of pets (dogs, cats, birds, fish, hamsters, etc.). (Treats will be accepted, too.)

In addition to food, the shelter also will accept monetary donations or gift cards for Petco, Petsmart, Kroger and other stores that sell pet food.

Please bring any donations to the Morrow County Dog Shelter during open hours (Monday-Thursday 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Friday by appointment only and Saturday-Sunday 10 a.m.-2 p.m.). Note: Please be sure to let the shelter staff know your donation is for the pet food pantry; any unspecified monetary donations will be used to help fund the dog shelter itself.

If you need help feeding your pets, call the shelter at 419-946-1747 to set up a pick-up time. If you need dog food, please bring proof of a current dog license, or bring cash or a check to purchase the license at the shelter.

The shelter is located on the Morrow County Fairgrounds; please call 419-946-1747 for directions.
